Private Pilot License Training
Get your Private Pilots License in 6 Weeks! The Private Pilot License - Airplane Single Engine Land will allow you to operate a single engine airplane when good weather prevails, both during daylight and night time hours. Initially, you will learn to fly simple single engine aircraft that have 2 or 4 seats and typically cruise at speeds ranging from 120 knots up to 150 knots. As you gain experience, you can later transition into faster; more powerful single engine aircraft that can be flown with your FAA Private Pilot License, but typically require additional experience and training. The basic package anticipates that you will complete your Private Pilot License Training using a 4 seat Cessna 172. Your course of study will include: Flight training and solo time necessary to master the piloting skills necessary for the Private Pilot License and to meet the FAA's training requirements for the license. Time with your instructor before and after each flight (pre- and post-flight briefings) to establish the training plan and discuss lessons learned during each training flight. Time with your instructor preparing for the tests you will take to demonstrate that you have the knowledge and skill to earn the Private Pilot License. Your training will be provided in a way that emphasizes development of excellent pilot judgment and a complete safety orientation. You will learn the maneuvers that a pilot must know how to perform, but just as importantly you will learn the proper foundation of decision making that is used by safe, confident pilots of all skill and experience levels. To earn your license, you will pass a written multiple choice examination testing your aeronautical knowledge mastered during your ground school course. You will also pass a practical test at the end of the course that will be administered by an FAA designated pilot examiner. The practical test will include an oral examination and a flight test that in total usually require 2 to 3 hours to complete. The prerequisites for this course include the desire and commitment to learn to fly and an FAA Third Class Medical Certificate, which will double as your Student Pilot Certificate. Athens Metro Tour
Excavations while building the metro revealed material from the Neolithic up to the modern era. Discoveries included a bathhouse (the Amalias shaft was relocated because of this very important find), metal working shops, aqueducts and cisterns, ancient roads and city walls, drains, cemeteries and random burial and an enigmatic room filled with oil lamps decorated with erotic scenes. Significant artifacts and features were detached, preserved and stored in secure facilities. Many of the finds, however, are on display at the stations of the Metro as well as some innovative design in others. The total excavation works represent the largest archaeological program ever undertaken in Athens. The metro project dug into Athens’ past to build its future. The tour will begin at the Acropolis metro station, where you will tour the station including several continuous friezes, carved in low relief, completed in the decoration of the Parthenon and simultaneously constitute a structural feature of the building. Next, you will ride the metro to Syntagma Station where the exhibits on show include ancient grave stones, an aqueduct from the 5th century BC, pottery, a 2,000-year old beehive, and a mosaic from the 5th century AD. Most interesting is the geological cross-section on display, with each layer of earth representing a different historical period. For example, see a grave containing a skeleton from the 4th century BC which lies just a few metres below a 16th-century cistern. You then move on to Evangelismos stop where you can exit the station and visit the Byzantine museum which is opposite the station. You then move on to the Megaro Mousikis stop, dedicated to the world famous Greek singer, Maria Kallas and located next to the National music venue, an optional visit as well.
